This new health tracker has an 'infinite battery'

Baracoda's BHeart device, unveiled at CES 2023, can work in most watches, eliminating the need to choose between your smartwatch and a standard watch.

At CES, Baracoda showed off its health tracker, the first to be universally compatible with existing standard or smartwatch models.

BHeart uses BMotion energy harvesting technology to recharge its battery from movement, body heat and ambient light. Sensors built into BHeart deliver data to a smartphone app compatible with iOS and Android so users can access their health data.

BHeart is designed to be worn instead of a standard watch strap or as a bracelet. Despite its simplicity, its intelligent design hides sophisticated sensors and energy harvesting technology. Baracoda's AIoT platform transforms data coming from multiple health sensors into real-world insights into users' body energy, health status, mental activity, activity level and sleep quality.

According to Baracoda, products like BHeart are setting the tone for the next era of health technology by focusing on integrating technology into existing products. Technologies like BHeart can make the entire sector more sustainable.

Baracoda says their technology breaks down the barriers that exist in the current health tracker market. These barriers include frequent loading, poor data quality, and the need for manual software updates.

"People of all ages and fitness levels need easier ways to track their health, so we need to design products that fit into everyone's lifestyle, including people who don't find today's technology affordable or easy to maintain," Baracoda CEO Thomas Serval said in a press release .

BHeart focuses on sustainability with its "energy-autonomous design" and plastic-free manufacturing. BHeart is made of durable materials such as leather and light alloys.

BHeart is also reusable as it can be added to any watch, avoiding having to choose between your smartwatch or a more formal watch for special occasions.
BHeart is compatible with watches with an ear width of 18 to 22 millimeters to attach the strap. Most standard watches have a 20mm lug.

Pricing is expected to start at $100. Customers can purchase BHeart from April 2023. The BHeart app will be available on the App Store in April and on the Google Play Store in June.

BHeart provides an interesting direction to think about the future of health and fitness trackers and smartwatches . We'll likely see more and more such technology going forward, and less and less need to recharge the devices we carry around.
