The NETGEAR M4300 switch series provides rich L2/L3/L4 and IPv4/IPv6 services for end-to-end enterprise deployments and SMB aggregation with unmatched ease of use: 10-Gigabit models can be seamlessly stacked with 1-Gigabit models within of the series. The virtual chassis failover architecture provides advanced high availability (HA) with failover recovery, i.e. distributed link aggregation enables load balancing and virtually zero downtime. The license-free L3 feature set includes static routing, policy-based routing, RIP, VRRP, OSpiv, as well as Multicast PIM routing. The NETGEAR M4300 series switches are future-ready, with Software Defined Networking (SDN) and OpenFlow 1.3 enabled for your network.
The M4300-28G-PoE comes with 24 fully provisionable 1G PoE ports, 2 10GBASE-T ports and 2 10GBASE-X SFP ports in a full form factor. All 4 10G ports are independent and can be used for stacking or uplinks: they are backward compatible with 1G. In this version of the GSM4328PA, the M4300-28G-PoE provides a resilient and secure access layer in campus and commercial building LAN environments. Ideal for wireless access, unified communications and IP video applications: 480W PoE budget is provided by a single APS550W PSU. The second will add 1 1 power redundancy in RPS mode and an expanded 720W PoE budget in Shared EPS mode. |

The M4300 is flexible enough for a mixed stack between 10-Gigabit and 1-Gigabit models, using any 10G port with any type of media (RJ45, SFP , DAC cables) High availability is another key differentiator for stacking solutions: In the event of a failure of the master NSF switch and failover ensure that the backup switch takes over while the forwarding plane continues to forward traffic to the working stack members without service interruption.

Greater flexibility
Two half-width M4300 switches can be paired in a single cabinet space for redundant Top of Rack installations with Auto-iSCSI prioritization. All 10-gigabit ports are independent and backward compatible with 1G for gradual migration to 10G speeds.
